After the previous day we decided that we didn’t really fancy another long day so decided on the Cosmiques Arete. It follows the left hand edge on the photo below. An all time classic and a lot more fun than flogging across the glacier and up the snow arete (trying not to get run over by skiers and snow boarders heading down the Vallee Blanche!). A couple of guys did it the day before (international team – australian and american) and missed the last telephrique down to Chamonix so had to spend the night in the hut. This wouldn’t have been too bad but the austarlian was due at work in London the following day! Fine style.
Back to the route – well … it was superb and a lot more effort than we expected especially with big sacs. A bit of everything: narrow snow aretes; bit of mixed; an abseil (!) and a bit of white-out to finish. the only thing wrong was that I totally messed up the pitches as Mark definitely got the best two!!

Very entertaining! The weatrher seems to have varied a lot on this – looks a bit Scottish in places. I like the slide show.
I am afraid I did the slideshow as I got a bit bored with trying to put the photos in correct order!
Nice photos, looks like a nice route
